Methods for putting on and removing protective devices

The selection of protective devices is determined by the type and amount of harmful substances in the environment, and the protective devices used in different environments and matching between each other differ greatly.

Personal protective devices will be contaminated with harmful substances in the field during use, if not properly worn may cause new pollution due to improper wearing and taking off process, and cause health hazards.

Protective device insertion and removal should be carried out in a dedicated space, and the layout and disposal of protective device space should be determined according to the type of harmful substances.

The main structure or device shall include forced ventilation, curtain, shower, blow drying, disinfection, etc. Items should be stored in accordance with contaminated areas and clean zones to avoid cross-contamination.

For the wearing and removing of pathogenic factors with serious contact hazards, a sequential habitization process can be adopted to carry out step by step to effectively ensure that secondary pollution is avoided.

The wearing principles of the protective device are based on the following Settings:

(1) The personal protective device is clean and safe, and the correct use can ensure that the individual is not harmed by pathogens;

(2) Set the individual before wearing the protective device as a relative polluter;

(3) After coming out of the contaminated site, the outer surface of the setting protective device has been contaminated.

a) For particulate pathogenic factors in the air (toxic and harmful dust, smoke, fog, radioactive dust, pathogenic microorganisms, etc.), the order of wearing and removing protective devices is:

Wear order: First wear respirators (protective masks, half-face comprehensive respirators, air carrying respirators, etc.) according to the regulations, check the air tightness, then wear a hat or hood, eye mask, protective clothing, protective shoes (shoe covers), and finally wear protective gloves.

Order of removal: First remove the eye mask into the disinfectant, then remove the gloves (hands can not touch the outer surface of the gloves during the process), protective clothing, hat, shoes (or shoe covers), and finally remove the respirator.

When putting on and taking off, pay attention to the following points: the action should be light to avoid raising contaminated harmful substances; In the process of removal, the area and time of exposure of the contaminated surface in the environment should be reduced as far as possible; The disposable contaminated items removed should be packed into a plastic bag with two layers of packaging.
